Difference between foundation, cover up, concealer, and....';makeup';?

Okay so I'm not sure if those terms are two in one or if they're all different types of products. But what does each do and how do I wear them?Difference between foundation, cover up, concealer, and....';makeup';?
makeup is an encompassing term for foundation and concealer.

foundation- goes all over the face, should match your skin tone exactly. can come in liquid or powder form

coverup/ concealer- basically the same thing, can be tinted green, yellow or skin tone to even out blemishes. you only dot these on your skin, don't apply in large areas. use them for dark circles, blemishes or scars. these can come in sticks, liquid or in a cream form.Difference between foundation, cover up, concealer, and....';makeup';?
Foundation- always start with foundation. like when you build a house, you have to have a good foundation to start with. There are two kinds, powder (for oily skin) and liquid (for dry skin) covers the whole face, and make sure it matches your skin tone. It helps even the skin tone out

Cover up- good for covering up zits, blemishes, scars, moles etc.

Concealer- good for discolored skin, such as dark circles under the eyes

make-up is every thing possible like mascara, blush, lipstick, lip gloss, eyeliner etc.

Mascara goes on the eyelashes, eyeliner goes around the eyes (always put it on before mascara), blush is color for the cheeks, eye shadow is color for the eyelids and there are the accent colors, the lid colors, and the crease colors, and yes... hope this helped :-)
Foundation always comes in bottle (if it is liquid).....or compact (if it is a creme based foundation) and is meant to cover the whole entire face, it can be applied with your fingers, foundation brush or a sponge.

Concealer comes in either stick form, or in a long tube with a sponge applicator....some higher end brands also carry concealer in a small jar. Concealer is applied before foundation and is usually recommended that it should be a tad lighter then your skin tone so it covers up things like undereye circles and blemishes etc...you can apply it directly to the area with the applicator and then either blend with your finger or concealer blush, sponge etc.....(its up to you)

Cover up is just a term that can represent either Foundation, Concealer, or powder...again its up to you :)

They are all different.

Foundation- A skin tone colored liquid, powder, mineral, cream, or mouse used to cover flaws on your skin such as acne, freckels, wrinkels, imperfections. It can also smooth out skin.

Cover up- Usually the same as foundation except a lighter coverage. Such as tinted moisterizer.

Conceler- used to 'concele' or hid big imperfections. Used sorta like a spot treatment, not used on entier face. To use you dab on acne, or imperfection and blend in well to give extra coverage. Then put foundation over.

Makeup- Includes eyeshadow, and eyeliner useually. Some times mascara and blush.
cover up is usually liquid and in a bottle

foundation is the powder stuff, that you apply with a brush and concealer is the roll on stuff, that is usually in a lipstick looking bottle and you just smooth it on, for under your eyes or pimples.
foundation is used to even out your complexion

concealer is thicker than foundation and is used to cover up imperfections( i.e. dark circles around the eyes)

cover up would be the same as concealer.
